Runaway Press

Bio:
Michelle Johnson lives in Grand Rapids, MI. She is a letterpress printer, a paper maker, a bookbinder and a landscape collage artist. She gets to make a mess and get dirty with ink, paper, glue, pulp and thread. Her biggest achievements are being a parent to a highly sensitive child, and choosing art as her life's work. Art is an act of resistance and of hope. It is incredibly important to our culture, and serves as a historical reflection of humanity. Michelle is proud to be a visual voice for this time period on Earth.

"Being in and near the Great Lakes is therapy for me. I feel like I'm going to burst with joy and contentment and grate-fullness and inspiration when I'm at Sleeping Bear Dunes. My imagination told me to take that feeling, and create something tangible I can keep in my home and share with others. Creating art is also therapy for me, so it's a win-win-WIN."
