About the Event
Join our team of Great Lakes Guardians as we spread some Earth Day love at Lake Erie's Metzger Marsh Wildlife Refuge. This area gets inundated with marine debris from watersheds that drain nearby - we need all hands on deck to clean up the shoreline!
Your hosts, FromStreamtoBay and Great Lakes Great Responsibility, will be on site with cleanup supplies but please do bring your own if you have some (gloves, buckets, wheelbarrows, etc.) as we are hoping to pack the shoreline with amazing volunteers. We are working closely with the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Ohio Department of Natural Resources to maximize our cleanup impact.
Please note:
- This is a rain or shine event, with the exception of extreme lake storms
- Much of the terrain is rocky and will require closed toes and navigating breakwall boulder terrain.
- Parking is limited to ~80 spaces, please carpool if possible.
