Adele Webster
Bio:

“Nature is my greatest inspiration. I’m fascinated with the layering of horizons. Looking out over water or an open vista is one of the most calming views, and I strive to capture that sense of grace and mystery in my work.”
Adele Webster is a British/Canadian artist whose work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. With a background in graphic design and a love of color theory, she blends dynamic visuals with her mastery of a unique acrylic wash process, layering translucent paint washes on wood panels. Through this technique, she explores gesture and colour, creating contemporary landscapes that balance playfulness with serenity.
Early in life, Adele discovered the escape creativity provided, the quiet space the mind wanders while making. Everything she paints begins in nature: the movement of water, the shifting of clouds, the expansiveness of distant horizons. Natural landscapes, seascapes, and horizon lines remain constant themes, grounding her practice in the graceful simplicity of the natural world.
Working in a minimalist style, Adele seeks harmony amid everyday chaos. Her art evokes dream-like memories and invites viewers to pause, reflect, and escape into peaceful vistas.
Based along the shores of Lake Ontario in Kingston, where the lake’s ever-changing skies and moods serve as daily inspiration. An award-winning artist, her work is represented in galleries across Canada and held in private collections worldwide.
