"Lake Ontario is my touchstone. I grew up on the north eastern shores of this big beautiful body of water. It's been part of my life since I can remember; sailing on it with my Dad, camping near it, driving along the edge of it almost every day, chasing sunset views across it and now I have a studio right on the edge of it. Lake Ontario and all the Great Lakes have become my greatest muse."

Adele is a Resident Artist at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning in Kingston, On, Canada. She paints in a contemporary abstracted style focusing on gesture and colour. Her work is inspired by nature's landscapes, using a minimalist style she attempts to bring balance in order to decipher the everyday chaos towards calm. Her intention is to create a mood or evoke a dream-like memory that one can escape into while enjoying the playfulness of the abstracted peaceful vista.

Her work is built through many layers of acrylic washes over birch panels which allows the wood grain to show through. Then finishing with a high gloss resin that adds richness, depth and makes the colours pop. Each piece takes about 3 weeks to create.
